Klavin Korff and his claims of fighting terrorism

Now here is a mind boggling article written by Kalvin himself. The short of it is Kalvin claims to be an officer in some sort of anti terrorism organization. Kalvin also claims to have evidence showing that Saddam Hussein was producing weapons of mass destruction. The evidence? A picture of what Kalvin says is a nuclear centrifuge and a picture of him with former United Nations weapons inspector Scott Ritter.

Kalvin got himself a media pass to a lecture Ritter was giving in Prague, so it isn't hard to explain how Korff got up close to Ritter. I'm sure if Ritter knew all about Kalvin's wild claims, Ritter's security people wouldn't have allowed Kalvin within a one-mile radius of Ritter.

If Kalvin actually had proof of Saddam Hussein manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, Kalvin would have been all over the news.

Don't forget, gentle reader, that that article appeared in "Colonel" Korff's English teaching column, "Kal's Corner". The articles ran every day in a giveaway newspaper that was handed out at Metro stations and designed to be flicked through by Prague commuters on their way to work. Imagine their consternation when - hoping to pick up a couple of helpful hints on irregular verbs or whatever - they were confronted by this nonsense. The columns ran for nearly two years. What his editors were playing at letting him get away with this for so long I have no idea.
